Hi, my name is Reid Meyerson, and I have a passion for sports that most people don't have. When I was four years old, I asked for a football for Christmas because I wanted to pretend I was the quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. I got a football for Christmas and went outside to throw the ball up to myself and act like I had just thrown myself a touchdown pass. I quickly grew out of the stage as I discovered what a baseball was when I went to my older brother's baseball game, and a foul ball rolled right to me. I begged my parents to get me a baseball for three days when they finally decided I was mature enough not to throw it through a window in the house. Me and my older brother started playing a game called pitcher-catcher. The game's rules were simple: The more strikes you get as the pitcher, the more likely you are to win. Revamp
Hey Blog, I know it's been a while since I've posted, I left my computer in my teacher's classroom over spring break so I have a lot to update you guys on. I decided to change my entire idea. My new idea is about a boxer who gets injured and is training for a comeback. This idea came to me while I was watching a UFC fight with my brother. And My brother has been training to become a UFC fighter. As the idea popped into my head I continued to watch this fighter get beat up and eventually severely injured. That's when it all came to me. I mentioned the idea to my brother and he loved it. He even offered to be the main character of it! All in all, It is a comeback story about a fighter that gets injured and is ready to get back in the ring. We already finished filming and have edited the whole thing. Opening
Hey blog, I have started to film my project. I decided to have my dad be a big part of my opening. I want the suspense of me and him possibly being separated because I am getting drafted into the war. I will be the main character so, I and my dad will take turns filming. I will start filming tomorrow and hope to finish filming by the end of the week. I will update you guys with video clips later this week. I am going to colorado for spring break, so I'm gonna get some cool shots that I really believe will represent how close I and my father are in this opening. The mountain terrain will also add an eerie feeling to my opening. Come on! Now that adds another element and gets the audience involved. The idea of a father and son trip will make it seem like we're the only people in the world. Hey Blog! This week I will start the production of my project. I have come to the conclusion that I will be doing the idea of an 18-year-old boy that is getting drafted into the military because there is a war going on. I brainstormed this idea because the Ukraine war is going on and everyone is worried about getting drafted into the war. This film's opening will start with a boy that is a preppy rich kid. The rich boy look of this character really establishes a feel for him not being ready to get drafted into the war. I believe that this will get the audience guessing how he will do in this war and be a real attention grabber. Hello Blog1 We have finished our music video project and are now transitioning to our portfolio projects. This is an exciting part of the class as I have always been passionate about blogging and editing my very own film opening. I am thinking of what my film opening should be about and right now I'm between an opening about a young man getting drafted into the military, or a film opening showing a sports player. I will be trying to get the rights to have the song, "you make my dreams come true" in my music video. I believe that this will be a good attention-getting device as it is such a catchy song. I have been brainstorming about the genre for my film opening and came to the conclusion that I want to do something different than other people and that's why I'm choosing comedy or drama. I'm kinda leaning more towards comedy as it relates to my personality more and I will just be able to flow ideas. Bye blog! Till next time.
Music video project
For this project, we wanted a genre that not a lot of people listen to. And we got exactly that. I and my group got the Alternative music genre which we were excited about. We selected the song, “Night Running”, by Cage the Elephant. We then watched the music video and played the song a few times to see if we could get an idea to blossom. Right when I heard the song, I thought of running from the police at night, trying to hide. I discussed with my group and told them my idea for the music video. They loved it and started to expand on the original idea. We had a great time thinking of what the music video would be like, which really enhanced our brainstorming process as we were all laughing and becoming friends. Sachet,(one of my group members) visioned that this song would be great for a party music video. With that being said, we decided on combining our 2 ideas.
